Upfront in the international airfreight industry
Lufthansa Cargo is the logistics services provider in the Lufthansa Group. Based in Frankfurt, the company ranks among the world’s biggest cargo carriers. It offers customers time-definite transport services coupled with superior quality and security standards.
Lufthansa Cargo
The activities of Lufthansa Cargo encompass all three airfreight product segments: General cargo with its td.Pro service, the express segment with td.Flash and the Specials segment with four competence centers handling the transport of temperature-sensitive shipments, live animals, airmail and valuable freight. These ancillary logistics services sensibly augment the company’s airport-to-airport core business.
Lufthansa Cargo operates globally in the airport-to-airport business. It serves around 300 destinations, worldwide, with its own fleet of freighters as well as the belly capacities of Lufthansa’s and Austrian Airlines's passenger aircraft and road services. The bulk of the freight is trans-shipped through the Frankfurt air cargo hub.
Revenues in 2010 totalled around 2.8 billion euros. With a transport volume of around 1.8 million tonnes of cargo and mail as well as about 8.9 billion revenue tonne-kilometres, Lufthansa Cargo is in the forefront of companies engaged in the transport of air cargo. The company currently employs around 4,500 staff worldwide.
