A modern, four-engined jet stands the test of time

Lufthansa CityLine has been operating four-engined Avro RJ85s manufactured by the British company BAe since 1994. These jets are useful because they can take off and land on extremely short runways, making them ideal for small airports. That’s why the Avro RJ85s
are used mainly on intercity and interregional routes within Europe. In reference to its four engines and stocky build, fans gave the small jet a nickname: Jumbolino.
