Bombardier CRJ700/200

Big brother for Bombardier’s little innovator

The Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier has come up with a grownup version of the CRJ200: the CRJ700. The plane’s greater size did, however, call for a number of modifications. The wings were enlarged, for example, the shape of the winglets located at the wingtips was altered, and the landing gear was raised. Not only that, the cabin floor was lowered slightly so as to give passengers more standing room. Yet even with all these improvements, what came out in the end was a saving: The CRJ700 consumes nine percent less fuel than its already economical kid brother, the CRJ200.
