Lufthansa continued its successful course in the 2008 business year. In a difficult economic environment, the Group came close to matching the previous year’s result by posting an impressive operating profit of around 1.35 billion euros.
The year’s figures again reflect the quality of the Group. Thanks to strong team performance by all the staff, Lufthansa is at the leading edge in industry competition. In a profoundly more challenging environment in 2009, Lufthansa is set on seizing opportunities in order to remain strong and profitable as well as to retain and improve its attractiveness even in times of crisis.
